In this amazing new tutorial, the Corridor Crew describe a new method of transforming a video into an Anime-style cartoon using AI image processing.
The traditional process of creating 2D Anime animation is time-consuming and requires skilled artists to draw every frame of the movie. Nico from Corridor explains how they experimented with Stable Diffusion, a machine learning process that generates an image from noise, to transform images into cartoons.
However, when applied to video, the process caused the video to flicker, and the details became inconsistent. To solve this problem, the team developed a method of turning noise into an image and then reversing the process to eliminate the flicker. They also trained their AI model to replicate a specific style to reduce style flicker.
Finally, they used a De-flicker plugin to remove any remaining flicker, resulting in a consistent and emotive cartoon character driven by video of each actor on a green screen. The Corridor Crew believes they have cracked a workflow for creating cartoons from video, which is a significant step towards true creative freedom.
