ZBrush 2024 New Features

ZBrush 2024 provides enhancements that affect many areas of your workflow, with a focus on innovative new features that are designed to fuel exploration and inspire creativity.

Redshift in ZBrush

Unlock the potential of real-time, GPU-accelerated, biased rendering with ZBrush integration. Get high-fidelity, high-resolution visuals without the need for UV and Texture Maps. Add another level of realism to your work with Subsurface Scattering, Emissive Light generation, fully adjustable metallic materials, and caustic effects for photorealistic glass. Use ZBrush with Redshift to take your art to the next level with stunningly realistic results.

Slime Bridge

Bring your creations to life with Slime Bridge! Utilizing the power of ZBrush‘s Masking system, Slime Bridge gives the user the capacity to generate intricate geometric connections and designs from one masked zone to the next. Start by making a mask on a particular surface then draw out a mask on an adjacent set of faces to begin forming your Slime Bridge. Hit the Slime Bridge button and observe as innovative shapes and structures materialize in realtime. Employ the Tension, Bridges Calipers and Branches sliders for extra creative control when you‘re ready to slime it up.

Local Symmetry

The Gizmo inside ZBrush is used by Local Symmetry to permit symmetry to be maintained in the ZBrush workspace even when models are shifted away from the central axis. This allows models to be positioned anywhere within the ZBrush canvas and still have symmetry maintained. Users can easily manipulate the placement of items while keeping the symmetry line of action intact.

Bas Relief
Create embossed surfaces iwith the new Bas Relief features in ZBrush. Load any model and create a Bas Relief alpha from camera view to be used to create raised sections of detail that closely resemble the results of traditional relief sculpture.

Bevel Pro
The new Bevel Pro plugin allows you to create complex bevels for meshes at any resolution without low-poly modeling.

Multi-Texture/Multi-Alpha
Brushes now support dual alphas and textures, allowing you to transition between the two based on the pen pressure of your stroke.

Brush Surface Noise with Local Projection
Apply any image, graphical noise or noise presets to a brush for local sculptural surface noise details. Use Brush Size or pen pressure sensitivity to adjust the noise scale on the fly. Local Projection will give a unique way to reapply any noise by position of the brush.

SubTool Alignment
Instantly redistribute multiple SubTools, or the geometry within a single SubTool with a single button press.

KnifeCircle & KnifeSquare
The new Knife brushes now support the Circle and Rectangle stroke types. Cut through meshes cleanly with these tools where the resulting cut accurately reflects the stroke.

Enhanced Stroke Interpolation
The Stroke Interpolation feature can now use ZIntensity, Brush Size, RGB Intensity, and Front and Back Colors to transition between strokes with a set number of steps. Create dazzling blends and intricate patterns of color and detail between two strokes on the surface of your mesh.
