John Wick 4 – Arc De Triomphe VFX Breakdown by Rodeo FX

This VFX breakdown from Rodeo FX explores the creation of an action sequence for John Wick 4, set around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Due to shooting difficulties, an abandoned airport in Berlin was used as an alternative location. Visual effects were later employed to digitally insert the Parisian environment and enhance the sequence with stunts and computer-generated elements.

Keanu Reeves trained extensively for his driving scenes, while Matchbox cars and iPhones were used for choreography and shot design. A car sled system with soft materials was created for safer practical effects.

Data acquisition involved scans and photographs of the Arc de Triomphe, which were combined by Rodeo FX to craft the environment and CG elements. The team’s attention to detail and technical expertise resulted in a visually stunning sequence. If you want to take a deep dive into this VFX sequence, check out the full interview here.
