Red Giant Trapcode Mir 3
Trapcode Mir has been created by Peder Norrby to enable you to produce 3D motion design at OpenGL speed. It ensures that as you are creating your 3D shapes you can preview them instantly so you can work quickly and efficiently.
Mir enables you to create distinctive VFX and motion graphics as it provides you with endless amalgamations of 3D Lighting and texture mapping with the Material and Shader options.
With this great software you start with a polygon mesh which you can then bend and shape to whatever design you want. This enables you to create spectacular abstract landscapes, flowing organic elements, soft shaded objects and nebula structures all totally stunningly animated with depth and light fast. You can also create as many duplicates of your design as you want with the Repeater group that can instantly copy any polygon mesh which you can then sculpt to any shape you desire.
The VFX much loved Perlin noise enables you to distort your mesh in 3D space. This fractal noise enables you to produce natural looking fluctuations like crumpled paper with the texture displacement effect.
Trapcode Mir provides you with 3 shader modes that enable you to apply an array of lighting and depth to your project. The newest mode is the Density mode which creates a thin film-like material that is quick to react to any camera angle. Another great shader mode is the Flat mode, this is the best mode to use when creating geometric elements and abstract forms. Then there is the Phong mode which has been created to render a reflective, smooth surface that combines well with the After Effects comp lights.
Red Giant guru Harry Frank has also designed 18 .ffx presets to enable you to get started on your Mir animation projects as quickly as possible.
The 3D Models feature enables you to use 3D models as Mir objects. There are over 60 OBJs in Mir’s library to choose from which can then be altered and repeated as all other Mir surfaces.
Mir’s surface presets, which are all fully-customizable, have been created to quick and simple to set up the materials, textures and shaders for a variety of surface styles including Faceted Surface, Smooth Surface, Chrome, Wireframe and Cartoon.
