Leo Hageman and the team at Red Giant have teamed up to create a twist on the Wizard of Oz story where Dorothy is a DJ that summons up a storm.

In the Behind the Scenes video below, they go through a number of VFX techniques using various Red Giant tools.

They begin by using Universe Toonit for the storyboards to plan out the film and also to get an idea for framing and colors.

After shooting the original footage, they used Denoiser on the and Cosmo and Colorista IV to unify skin tones and Magic Bullet Looks for the final color grade.

They then used Primatte Keyer for all their sky replacement – replacing the original clear blue skies with the storm clouds you see in the film.

The new HUD tools in Universe were used to create a fake UI for the DJ controls and Trapcode Sound Keys to drive all the animation.

To finish off they used Trapcode Particular and Form for the wind debris shot.
